Employing Doctorate Engineering and Scientific staff along with Consultant Engineers, Scientists and Technicians; our senior consultants are internationally recognised experts in their specialist fields, and many have served on national and international standards committees. In the UK our Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) compliant laboratories offer Industrial Explosion Hazard (IEH), Chemical Process Evaluation (CPE) and electrostatic testing, as well as a full range of physico-chemical, regulatory testing services for NONS, SDS, CHIP (please see physico-chemical testing page) and transport applications. Our electrostatic services cover profiling of powders, films and liquids for both production handling problems and electrostatic ignition hazards. In the field of IEH, Chilworth specialist test apparatus includes the 20L sphere, MIE, MIT and LIT for powders and dusts, AIT, flammable limits, MIC, MESG and 5 litre sphere for liquids along with a number of thermal stability test ovens. In our CPE laboratory there is a Mettler RC1, adiabatic pressure dewar calorimeters, isothermal calorimeters, a Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC), Accelerated Rate Calorimeter (ARC) and gas evolution measurement equipment. Whilst in our humidity controlled, electrostatics laboratory we have equipment to measure Powder Volume Resistivity, liquid conductivity, Charge Relaxation time and Chargeability. There is also the propensity to measure the electrostatic properties of big bags (FIBC), liners, plastic pipes, shoes, gloves etc. All this test data is backed-up by experienced consultants that can provide process safety and regulatory solutions for our clients. Our process safety division can undertake Risk Assessments, Hazardous Area Classification (HAC), electrostatic audits and all can be combined to provide complete The client base of Chilworth Technology covers more than 50 countries, and includes major international companies in the fine chemicals/pharmaceutical, bulk organics, food stuffs, paints, resins/plastics, dyestuffs, pigments, agrochemicals, soaps/detergents, oil/petrochemicals, and the legal and insurance fields. With increasing emphasis from legislation on the safe handling of materials and within industry a focus on safe plant and processing, the role of Chilworth Technology as a centre for process safety and regulatory expertise has never been more important. Join other great companies such as Glaxosmithkline, Unilever, BASF, Pfizer, Tate & Lyle, Nestle, BP and others in making Chilworth part of your safety team. |
